We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone in the community who helped us clear out the StrongHer Generation Store. Your support has meant so much.

For over a decade, the Virginia Women and Family Support Center has served women and children through housing, education, and compassion. Since opening last year, every purchase, donation, and act of kindness through StrongHer Generation has helped support that mission and make a lasting impact.

While this chapter is coming to a close, our mission continues stronger than ever, and we are excited for what lies ahead. Stay tuned for the announcement of our new location.

To keep StrongHer Generation stocked and thriving, we are collecting furniture, home essentials, and clothing. Your donations provide quality items for those visiting our exchange and therefore, generate essential funding for our programs at Virginia Women and Family Support Center.

Items We Are Collecting

Last year, Virginia Women and Family Support Center had to get creative to overcome funding shortages and continue supporting the women and children who rely on us for stable, long-term housing. This year, to help sustain our housing program and minimize the impact of these shortages, we launched a special initiative —StrongHer Generation.

When you visit StrongHer Generation Exchange, you’re doing more than just finding great items, you’re helping provide safe, stable, long-term housing for women and children, strengthening families, and investing in a brighter future for the next generation.

To make this possible, we are collecting furniture and home essentials to stock StrongHer Generation. If you have any of the items listed below that you’d like to donate, we would be so grateful. Feel free to share this with your friends, too!

Items we are accepting:

Clothing (all kinds)
Jewelry, sweaters, dresses, shoes
Kitchenware, coffee pots, toasters, pans, cookware
Home décor: flower pots, lamps, art, baskets, china
Bedding: pillows (new), pillowcases, blankets, comforters, linens
Luggage, books, perfume, hangers

We do not accept mattresses, cribs, and stained or ripped clothes. If you have an questions about what we accept, please give us a call at 571-261-2838.

Please drop off your items to donate to 14019A Glenkirk Rd. Gainesville, VA 20155 to our donation bin on the front steps.
